선희와 가족이 된 첫째 날

We have been so blessed to have Sunny join our family!  She is such a gentle and sweet soul. During her first 24 hours with us, she was very timid, although she was also very excited to explore our property. Her favorite spot in our house was our closed-in balcony where she could find a bit of privacy and fresh air. 

She spent the first night in our room, and slept peacefully through the night and greeted us in the morning with a wagging tail and ready for cuddles! It brings us so much joy to see her personality start to come out. She smiles at us, and cautiously licks our hands, and explores our house constantly. She is trying to figure out our daily routines.

I work from home, so she has settled happily in my office on a blanket next to me looking out the window or falling asleep. 

And we have taken her on her first longer walk on our trails in our forest behind our house. Her natural hunter instincts have been awakened! She is sniffing every chipmunk hole and leading us on leash down all the trails. She seems right at home in her new territory. 

Last night, on her third night with us, she finally slept in her own bed in our room, and was happily rolling and stretching on her back when she woke up.

She's an absolute sweetheart and we can't wait to keep seeing her evolve and show us what she wants to do together. 

선희가 우리 가족이 된 것은 우리 가족에게 정말로 큰 축복이에요.  선희는 아주 아름답고 젠틀한 영혼인 것 같고요.  첫 24시간동안 조금 조심하는 감이 있었지만 우리집을 탐색하는 것을 즐겼어요.  우리집에서 선희가 가장 좋아하는 공간은 프라이버시를 즐기며 상쾌한 공기를 즐길 수 있는 발코니에요.  첫날 밤 선희는 저희 방에서 함께 자고 아침에 꼬리를 흔들며 우리를 반기며 품에 안겼어요.  선희가 처음부터 이렇게 감정표현을 해주어서 우리는 기쁜 마음을 주체할 수 없네요.  우리를 보고 미소 짓고 조심스럽게 우리 손을 핥고 집을 여기저기를 킁킁거리며 돌아다녀요.  우리의 일상생활 패턴을 알려고 노력하는 것 같아요.

저는 집에서 일을 하기 때문에 일하는 동안 선희는 제 옆에서 앉아서 창밖을 보거나 잠을 자요.  그리고 처음으로 저희집 뒤의 등산로에서 긴 산책을 즐기기도 했고요.  산책을 하며 선희가 가지고 있던 사냥 본능이 깨어나는 것 같아요.  얼룩 다람쥐 굴을 킁킁거리고 줄을 당기며 최대한 많은 냄새를 맡으며 탐색하려 하고요.  이미 저희집은 그녀가 편하게 생각하는 영역인 것 같아요.

어제 밤은 선희가 우리와 지낸 세번째 밤이었어요.  삼일이 되어서야 우리 방에 놔준 자신의 침대에서 잠을 잤어요.  우리가 일어날 때 뒹굴며 스트레칭을 했고요.  

선희는 정말 사랑할 수 밖에 없는 아이이고 앞으로 우리가 함께 할 날들이 너무 기대되네요!
